A twin screw pump is a sealed chamber with a constant volume formed by the screw sleeve and the pump body or lining sleeve that mesh with each other on the master and slave shafts. The medium is sent to the middle of the pump body with the rotation of the screw shaft, and the two converge to finally reach the outlet of the pump, thereby achieving the purpose of pump delivery.

Description

A twin screw pump is an externally engaged screw pump that uses two screws that are engaged and not in contact with each other to pump liquid. The active screw and the driven screw have threads in different directions of rotation. The screw is tightly attached to the pump body. The active screw is driven by the prime mover, while the driven screw is driven by the active screw through a synchronous gear.

Twin screw pumps can be divided into two forms: internal bearings and external bearings. In the structural form of built-in bearings, the bearings are lubricated by the conveyed material. The working chamber of the twin screw pump with an external bearing structure is separate from the bearing. Due to the structure of this pump and the side clearance between the screws, it can transport non lubricating media. In addition, adjust the synchronous gear so that the screw does not come into contact, while transmitting half of the output torque to the driven screw. Just like all screw pumps, external bearing twin screw pumps also have self suction capacity, and most pump conveying components are symmetrically arranged with double suction, which can eliminate axial force and also have a large suction height. 

Structure

This type of pump adopts a double suction structure, with both ends of the screw located in the same pressure chamber, and the axial force can balance on its own. The bearings at both ends are externally mounted and lubricated separately with lubricating oil, so they are not affected by the conveying medium. The two screws are driven by a pair of synchronous gears, and there is no contact between the screw tooth surfaces, leaving a small gap. Impurities in the medium cannot directly wear the screw tooth surfaces. Except for some small displacement pumps internal flow safety valves are generally installed on the pump body, which have a certain protective effect when the discharge pressure exceeds the rated value. 

There are two directions for inlet and outlet on the pump body of Sunrise double screw pump. The first is horizontal inlet and horizontal outle and second one is horizontal entry and vertical upward exit. So that Users can choose according to their own needs.

1. Smooth liquid conveying, no pulsation, no stirring, low vibration, and low noise.
2. External bearing structure, using independent lubrication, can transport various non lubricating media.
3. Has strong self suction performance, with a gas content of no more than 80% and a sediment content of no more than 500g/m3 during multiphase transportation.
4. Using synchronous gear drive, there is no contact between the two rotors, even if idling for a short period of time.
5. Can service for corrosive media.
6. The pump body is equipped with a heating sleeve, which can transport various clean or low viscosity or high viscosity media containing solid small particles (generally particle diameter less than 0.12-0.2mm).
7. The shaft end adopts mechanical seal or corrugated pipe mechanical seal, which has the characteristics of long service life, low leakage, and wide applicability.
8. Double suction structure, with no axial force on the rotor.

Application

1. Oilfield: used as a multiphase mixed transport pump for oil, gas, water, trace fine solid particles, and crude oil transportation pump.
2. Petrochemical industry: used as loading and transportation pumps for various resins, pigments, paraffin, paints, inks, latex, various oil products, crude oil, heavy oil, etc.
3. Shipbuilding industry: used for ship loading pumps, bottom sweeping and sewage treatment, main engine lubrication pumps, fuel pumps.
4. Thermal power plant: used as a pump for transporting heavy oil and crude oil, as well as a lubricating oil pump for the main engine.
