viewsRockySea Petro: A Pioneer in Progressing Cavity Pump Manufacturing in China
Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP) of RockySea is very suitable for oilfield operations characterized by high viscosity fluids and high sand content. These positive displacement pumps provide variable flow and constant head, capable of handling various types of operating conditions, and have excellent sand removal capabilities.
Compared with other manual lifting methods, such as SAGD and CSI, screw pumps have simple design and installation, lower power consumption, and convenient operation, making them a cost-effective and efficient manual lifting solution.
Description
Crude oil with high viscosity (usually above 100 cp) and a specific gravity below 22.3 ° API is classified as heavy oil. These crude oils typically require special production techniques to overcome their high viscosity. For oilfield production, increasing the production of heavy oil, super heavy oil or asphalt can effectively improve the utilization rate and mining output. Conventional methods include steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD), circulating steam injection (CSI), steam recovery and flow pump system.
For heavy and ultra heavy oil, a volumetric pump capable of handling high viscosity fluids is required. Well flow is a mixture of crude oil, water, natural gas, and sand. For each region and reservoir, the proportion of oil, water, gas, and sand will vary. From an economic, environmental, and facility management perspective, transferring the entire well flow to collection and treatment facilities rather than separating at the well site is a clear advantage.
The selected pump system should be reliable, safe, and able to handle changes in fluid composition and process conditions. Screw pump can meet these requirements and is a good choice for multiphase fluid transportation. Compared to other pumping systems, PCP is a highly attractive cost-effective solution.
PCP is a mature industrial technology. It has been proven that it can be widely applied in many different types of industries. This pump belongs to the positive displacement series and has been in use since the 1950s.
Principle
Progressing cavity pump of RockySea is a type of positive displacement pump and is also known as a progressive cavity pump, progg cavity pump, eccentric screw pump or cavity pump. It transfers fluid by means of the progress, through the pump, of a sequence of small, fixed shape, discrete cavities, as its rotor is turned. This leads to the volumetric flow rate being proportional to the rotation rate (bidirectionally) and to low levels of shearing being applied to the pumped fluid.
These pumps have application in fluid metering and pumping of viscous or shear-sensitive materials. The cavities taper down toward their ends and overlap. As one cavity diminishes another increases, the net flow amount has minimal variation as the total displacement is equal. This design results in a flow with little to no pulse.
Feature
RockySea has rich experience in supplying PCP for 20 years and all products have the following advantages.
1. Can work in temperatures up to 300 ℃.
2. Electric or hydraulic drive heads can be provided.
3. Working under corrosive, abrasive, and aromatic conditions.
4. Process oil with low to high viscosity (API 6 to 9) and high cut sand.
