Description

There are three types of mechanical liner hangers: micro step type, wedge type, and slip type, with slip type liner hangers being the most commonly used. The slip type liner hanger is divided into two types: hydraulic slip liner hanger and mechanical slip liner hanger, with mechanical slip liner hanger being the most commonly used. There are two types of mechanical slip liner hangers: J-shaped groove type and track type. The "J" groove type slip liner hanger is a rotating release spring mounted slip, while the track type slip liner hanger is a steering ring sliding mounted slip on the track.

Principle

The hanger is connected to the liner string and lowered to the sitting position. A pressure holding ball is inserted from the wellhead, and when the ball falls to the pressure holding support seat, the pressure is held from the wellhead. A pressure difference is formed between the inside and outside of the pipe, and the piston is pushed down to cut the hydraulic cylinder shear nail, driving the slip to move up along the cone and close to the inner wall of the upper casing. At this time, the pipe column is lowered to make the slip tooth stuck on the casing wall, achieving liner suspension. After sitting and hanging, apply pressure to hold the ball seat and open the circulation channel. The reverse connection between the forward drilling string and the hanger is used to prevent the loss of the liner after cementing.

Structure

The mechanical hangers are mainly composed of the following components: liner hanger assembly, feeding tool assembly, sealing assembly, ball seat assembly, rubber plug, float collar, float shoe, center pipe coupling, etc.
