By using a liner hanger, cementing can be achieved, reducing the weight of casing in a deep well, improving drilling rig load, reducing the flow resistance of injected cement slurry, and facilitating safe construction.
By reconnecting the liner, the problem of drilling operations being affected by upper casing wear can be solved; The use of liner suspension cementing technology can also reduce the amount of casing used and save drilling costs.
Description
In oil recovery, the casing hanger is a part of the wellhead assembly that provides support for the casing string when it descends into the wellbore. Its function is to ensure the correct position of the casing. When the casing string is lowered into the wellbore, it is suspended or suspended by the casing hanger, which is located on the platform shoulder inside the casing spool. The design of the casing hanger must be able to withstand the full weight of the casing and provide a seal between the casing hanger and the valve core.
Casing Hangers may also be suspended within the wellhead by means of radial distortion of the wellhead bore e.g. the "Pos-Grip" method.
It is installed to support various casing columns in the well. It is a landing base or casing head. This is usually welded or screwed to the top of the surface casing column. The surface casing serves as the foundation pile of the well, transmitting the suspended load to the ground. The casing head is prepared with a bowl, and the slips sit in the bowl and clamp the casing into place. Most casing heads allow pressure readings to be taken in the annulus and provide methods for pumping out or in as necessary. The top of the casing string and annulus is usually sealed.
The most common size of casing hanger is 13 3⁄8 in (340 mm) with over 155,000 such units installed worldwide in 2014 alone.RockySea can provide various casing hanger from 5 1/2 to 13 3/8 for different client needs.
Principle
The hanger is connected to the liner string and lowered to the sitting position. A pressure holding ball is inserted from the wellhead, and when the ball falls to the pressure holding support seat, the pressure is held from the wellhead. A pressure difference is formed between the inside and outside of the pipe, and the piston is pushed down to cut the hydraulic cylinder shear nail, driving the slip to move up along the cone and close to the inner wall of the upper casing. At this time, the pipe column is lowered to make the slip tooth stuck on the casing wall, achieving liner suspension. After sitting and hanging, apply pressure to hold the ball seat and open the circulation channel. The reverse connection between the forward drilling string and the hanger is used to prevent the loss of the liner after cementing.
Structure
The commonly used casing hangers are mainly divided into mechanical and hydraulic liner hangers. They are mainly composed of the following components: liner hanger assembly, feeding tool assembly, sealing assembly, ball seat assembly, rubber plug, float collar, float shoe, center pipe coupling, etc.
Feature
The liner hanger of RockySea has been proven to be mature and reliable through practical testing, and has the following advantages.
1. The unique hydraulic cylinder design ensures more reliable seat suspension and can be used in different well conditions;
2. Suitable for casing window side drilling, deepening of old wells, and well repair operations;
3. Both the rubber plug and ball seat are designed with locking mechanisms, which can prevent leakage and floating after being pressed;
4. The reverse operation is simple, as long as the drilling tool is lowered by 3-5 tons and turned forward, the reverse can be easily opened;
5. The sealing core can be lifted out of the wellhead with the tool being fed in;
