Sucker Rod is a long, threaded rod used in sucker-rod pumps, which are common in the oil and gas industry for lifting oil from wells. The rod is connected to a polished rod at the wellhead and extends down into the wellbore to connect with the pump. It is screwed into the pump cylinder and the sucker rod string is suspended from the beam of the pump jack at the surface. The Sucker Rod transmits the reciprocating motion from the pump jack to the pump in the wellbore, thereby lifting oil to the surface. It must be strong and durable to withstand the constant reciprocating motion and heavy loads over long distances. The sucker rod is also subject to wear and must be replaced periodically to maintain efficient operation of the pump.
